A brief introduction

I’m Kieren S. Charles, an illustrator and comic creator nestled in England. Most of my work is inspired by untold emotions, portrayed through abstract means, carrying themes of loss, mental health and LGBT— yet all being interpretative. I enjoy cats and detectives, and in my free time, drawing art for media I find comfort or joy in.I am currently looking for work, including events to stall at or client work. I am also looking to collaborate with independent stores to stock my physical work, feel free to reach out!

Comics and Narrative-Driven Artwork

I am a 2023 Graduate of LAU’s comics course. In my years of study I learned my passion behind narrative-driven artwork and comics. I like to create work that is abstract, to resonate with many people in different ways.
Below are details of some of my projects.

Absence Permanence (2025)

“Absence / Permanence / Consistency / Constant” is a comic featuring an abstract telling of lived grief and loss.
Below are the first few pages.

Project Fores (2019-Ongoing)

A passion project of many years, Project Fores (unnamed) is a planned composite comic, comprising of a number of shorter stores (cases) that illustrate the full narrative of PI Fores. Like many of my works, the story has a focus on loss and grief. The story follows private investigator Lawrence “Pence” Fores, based in the East of England. Frequently plagued by memories of a supposed "past life", Fores has spent his own life chasing and retracing steps, convinced that something was left unfinished, that something was "lost"…Below are a number of images to showcase the theme and character(s) of this story.

Cottontail Heist (2023)

The final project of my university degree. Cottontail Heist was the result of researching into the comics industry (specifically the IDW company), and my wish to see more representation of disabled characters in all-ages/children’s comics.
